With more than 20 years of hands-on veterinary experience, Dr. Jake Hiller — founder of EastOver Vet and your pet’s new best friend — is known for his calm, thoughtful care and compassionate approach. He listens, explains, and always puts your pet first.
Growing up on his family’s cranberry, dairy, and Clydesdale horse farm on the south coast of Massachusetts, Dr. Hiller developed both a strong work ethic and a lifelong passion for animals. His journey took him from UMass-Amherst, where he earned his degree in Pre-Veterinary Sciences, to the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
Over the years, Dr. Hiller has built deep expertise in surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine, as well as extensive experience in emergency, urgent care, and general practice. He is passionate about creating a calm, personal setting that supports pets — and their people — at every visit.
That vision inspired him and his wife, Sandy, to open EastOver Vet in the Woodbine community they now call home. They’re excited to welcome you and your pets into a space where high-quality medicine and genuine compassion go hand in hand.

Co-Founder and Business Director of EastOver Vet, Sandy brings extensive experience in veterinary sales and start-ups to the practice. She began her career at an animal clinic in Pennsylvania while completing post-baccalaureate courses, quickly discovering her passion for the industry. In 2008, her career brought her to Maryland, and in 2018 she met Dr. Hiller at a veterinary conference, where they shared a vision for creating a hospital that blends exceptional medicine with an outstanding client experience. Today, she oversees operations, ensuring EastOver Vet runs smoothly and efficiently behind the scenes.

Best vet in the Maryland area!Posted on Larry VallieresTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a great experience.. competent thorough... "Kitty" usually doesn't allow strangers to handle her but they picked her right up. I like the open treatment area and the brand new clean facility. No wait. They said I could bring her right in when I was worried. Doctor was nice and took time to chat about the issues. Not rushed..Posted on Don KatzenbergerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I Cannot say enough about this new veterinary practice. Our past veterinary clinic for decades has become too “corporate” and was lacking in that personal touch that you look for with your loved pet. Dr. Hiller’s professionalism and heartfelt care is definitely needed and welcomed in our area. A++ for a beautiful office and staff. Wish I could give more than 5 Stars!Posted on Maggie RowellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr. Hiller is thorough, transparent, and easy to talk to. The staff is great and the practice is beautiful. I mean come on, look how sweet this picture is of our dog after surgery with one of their employees! Couldn’t ask for a better vet for our pup.Posted on Olivia HallTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very pleased with this new vet! I had a sick kitty and they were able to get me in same day for a VERY reasonable price. The facility is spotless and “the back” where they take pets to run tests etc is a half glass wall so you can see your pet the whole time. The staff was very friendly and Dr. Hiller answered all my questions. I also loved how “checkout” was done in the room, so no waiting with anxious pets at the front desk!Posted on Macarena FernandezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Clean, efficient, friendly, and organized! We will be staying at EastOver for vet services! Adding to my first review— we recently had a dental procedure for my senior dog. Dr. Hiller and his staff were amazing! The quality of care at Eastover can’t be beat.Posted on Holly LofticeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Took my puppy, Peep, in for her booster shots and everyone was wonderful! The facility is so fresh and clean. Dr. Hiller is very thorough with all that he talks about and was happy to answer questions I had.
